Grier Returns to Cowboys in Offensive Assistant Role

Richardson, Texas — Will Grier will join the Cowboys as an offensive assistant, beginning the role when training camp opens next week.

Grier entered the NFL as Carolina’s 2019 third-round choice. His two earlier Dallas stops centered mainly on preseason work and practice squads.

For Richardson-area Cowboys followers, the staff move takes effect with the opening of training camp next week.

Dallas made the announcement July 24. The club said the 31-year-old had recently retired after an offseason with Carolina; ESPN reported he ended his playing career July 15.

The move reunites him with Brian Schottenheimer and Dak Prescott in the Cowboys organization.
