Fossil Group, the Richardson-based maker of watches and accessories, has added two directors with backgrounds in retail strategy and artificial intelligence and named a new board chair.

Sebastian DiGrande and Chandhu Nair were elected to the board at the company's annual stockholders meeting on Oct. 2, Fossil said in an announcement Thursday. Wendy Schoppert, a director since May 2025, became chair of the board the same day. The board now has seven members, six of them independent.

The new directors

DiGrande is co-founder and chief executive of PCX Markets, which the company described as a climate technology and plastic responsibility platform operating in 16 countries. He was previously executive vice president of strategy and chief customer officer at Gap Inc., and spent 21 years at Boston Consulting Group, finishing as a senior partner and managing director.

He served on the Big Lots board from 2018 to 2025. He will sit on Fossil's Compensation and Talent Management Committee.

Nair is senior vice president and chief AI officer at Target Corp. Before Target, he spent six years at Lowe's, where he started and led its enterprise AI Transformation Office, and earlier co-founded and ran Cognitive Retail Inc. He also held e-commerce and technology roles at Staples and Infosys. He joins Fossil's Audit Committee.

A turnaround in progress

Fossil framed the additions as part of its turnaround plan. "Their expertise across global brands, technology and customer experience at scale will be instrumental as we further advance our turnaround plan," Chief Executive Franco Fogliato said in the release.

Schoppert said the two bring experience "highly relevant to the Company's business strategy."

The announcement did not say who held the chair before Schoppert or whether any directors left the board at the annual meeting.

Fossil sells watches, jewelry, handbags, small leather goods, belts and sunglasses. Its own brands are Fossil, Michele, Relic, Skagen and Zodiac, and it makes products under licenses for Armani Exchange, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Michael Kors, Skechers and Tory Burch. The company's stock trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol FOSL.
