Celebrate the Arts is set to take place at the Courtyard Theater in Plano on August 15, featuring a showcase of local arts groups. Located about 5 miles north of Richardson, this annual event is organized by Collaborative Arts of Plano and is designed to appeal to families and art enthusiasts alike.

The event consists of two parts. The children’s matinee, starting at 2:30 p.m., offers performances tailored for younger audiences, alongside interactive art activities and a musical instrument “Petting Zoo” by the Plano Symphony Orchestra. Tickets for the matinee are priced at $10.

The evening showcase begins at 7 p.m., featuring 20 performances from various member organizations, along with speeches from civic leaders. This variety show includes music, dance, theater, and visual art, with a visual arts exhibition available for viewing before the performances. Evening tickets are available for $20 and include access to an afterparty with a DJ, wine, snacks, and opportunities to meet the performers.

Collaborative Arts of Plano, known as CAP, has been active since 2015 and comprises 27 member organizations that contribute to the cultural landscape of the city, including the Plano Symphony Orchestra and the Plano Metropolitan Ballet. This event allows attendees to experience a diverse selection of local arts in one day.
