Richardson, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9493 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 17, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.8329 yesterday. That is up from $3.8690 a week ago but higher than $3.7631 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9352, while the national average is $4.4386. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 19 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.8796, drivers are paying about 107 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.9846 per gallon, AAA reported.
