Murakami Delivers Historic Offensive Performance

Michael Busch delivered a historic offensive display as the Chicago White Sox crushed the Houston Astros 12-3 at Rate Field on Sunday. The slugger hit four home runs, including two solo shots and a pair of multi-run blasts, driving in six runs in total. His performance anchored a White Sox attack that overwhelmed Houston’s pitching staff from the opening inning.

Murakami’s first home run came in the top of the first inning, a 385-foot shot to left field that also scored Antonacci, giving the White Sox an early 2-1 lead. He extended the advantage in the third inning with a grounded out that allowed Romo to score, making it 3-2.

The left-handed hitter broke the game open in the seventh inning with a single that drove in two runs, followed by a solo home run in the eighth. His final home run, a 398-foot shot to right center in the eighth, sealed the decisive 12-3 victory.

White Sox Offense Explodes Early

The White Sox jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Peña homered to left field, measuring 393 feet. Murakami’s two-run homer immediately followed, shifting the momentum. Peña added another solo home run in the third inning, a 394-foot shot to right center, tying the game at 3-3 after Trammell’s solo shot to center in the fifth.

The White Sox offense continued to pile on runs in the sixth inning when Vargas homered to left field, scoring Antonacci to make it 5-3. Meidroth added a solo shot to left-center field in the seventh, followed by Perez’s two-run homer in the eighth that made it 11-3.

Pitching Struggles for Houston

Houston’s pitching staff struggled to contain the White Sox lineup. Ronel Blanco took the loss, pitching 5.1 innings while allowing five hits and five earned runs, striking out four batters. He was followed by Enyel De Los Santos, who pitched one inning and allowed two earned runs on three hits.

Bryan King pitched 0.2 innings, giving up two earned runs on three hits, and Miguel Ullola allowed three earned runs on two hits in one inning.

White Sox Pitching Holds Firm

Erick Fedde started for Chicago, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing five hits and three earned runs. Jordan Hicks pitched one scoreless inning, followed by Sean Newcomb, who earned the win with 0.2 innings of scoreless relief. Grant Taylor secured the save with one scoreless inning, striking out two batters.

Chris Murphy pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts, and Seranthony Dominguez closed out the game with one scoreless inning, striking out one batter.

The White Sox improved to 55-49, while the Astros fell to 52-55. The game drew an attendance of 32,581 at Rate Field.
