Montero, De Jesus Combine for Five-Hitter as Tigers Shut Out Astros 8-0

Astros Offense Stifled

Houston’s lineup was unable to generate any sustained pressure against the Tigers’ battery. The offensive surge intensified in the fourth inning. Keith followed with a 341-foot home run to right, extending the lead to 4-0. Outman then launched a 407-foot home run to right, bringing in McKinstry and Vierling for a three-run blast that pushed the score to 7-0.

Dingler capped the inning with a single to center field, scoring McGonigle and making it 8-0.

Final Result

The Tigers held the Astros scoreless through the remainder of the game, finishing with a decisive 8-0 victory. The win improved Detroit’s record to 35-47, while Houston fell to 40-44. The game drew an attendance of 30,036 fans to Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan.
