Tampa Bay Rays players Fortes and Caminero delivered crucial home runs to help secure a 3-1 victory over the Houston Astros at Daikin Park on Saturday. The win marks the ninth consecutive triumph for the Rays, who improved their record to 52-33. Houston fell to 43-47.
The game remained scoreless until the sixth inning when Fortes broke the tie. He launched a 391-foot home run to left center, giving Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead. The Astros responded immediately in the same frame. Alvarez countered with a 427-foot blast to right center, tying the game at 1-1.
Caminero Provides Decisive Blow
The momentum shifted again in the seventh inning. Caminero hit a 374-foot home run to left field, restoring Tampa Bay's lead at 2-1. This marked the third home run of the game, highlighting the power display from the Rays' lineup.
Spencer Arrighetti pitched effectively for Houston, lasting six innings. He allowed one earned run on two hits while striking out four batters. However, the Astros could not add to their single run.
Rays Closer Seals Victory
