Richardson Police have dropped charges against three teenagers who were arrested in connection with a March 2026 shooting at a Waffle House on Spring Valley Road. The incident left 18-year-old Seth Jackson paralyzed from the waist down. The department stated that the dismissal of charges followed the development of additional information during the ongoing investigation.
Taylor Griffin, 18, and Charles Webster, 17, were arrested on March 26 and initially charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. A third juvenile, who had been charged with deadly conduct, also saw his case dismissed. Griffin admitted to police that he punched another individual before identifying his cousin, Webster. Griffin’s mother previously told FOX 4 that neither boy fired shots during the incident.
The shooting occurred on March 19 after a large group of 50 to 100 people gathered at the restaurant following the dispersal of a party in Dallas. Court documents indicate the violence began after an argument led to physical altercations. After Webster threw a punch, multiple individuals drew firearms and began shooting.
Jackson was shot while attempting to assist a friend, according to court records. Videos reviewed by FOX 4 show Jackson was not near the shooter at the time.
Richardson Police have not yet identified or arrested a suspect for the shooting. The department continues to interview witnesses but has stated that there is currently insufficient evidence to file new charges. In March, the police released photos of five persons of interest and asked the public for help identifying them. Officials believe students from Richardson ISD, Anna ISD, and potentially other districts were involved.
