Truck Yard has opened its doors in Richardson, offering a retro-themed restaurant and beer garden capable of seating more than 600 guests. The new location is situated on the edge of Central Expressway at 740 S. Central Expressway, replacing the former Old 75 Beer Garden which closed in 2024. The establishment officially opened on September 1, 2026.
The interior design aims to evoke the 1950s and 1960s, featuring a tree-lined patio with high fences that shield the space from the nearby highway. Decorative elements include tables constructed from truck beds and a seating area inspired by the Como Motel, a motor lodge that operated on the east side of Central Expressway in the mid-1950s.
Above mustard-yellow velvet couches in this section, 41 faux axes are suspended. Owner Jason Boso explained that this number references the 1980 case involving Candy Montgomery, who reportedly visited the neighboring motel with her paramour.
To accommodate varying weather conditions, the venue includes an indoor dining area with garage-door walls and climate control. Boso noted that attendance can fluctuate significantly, ranging from 40 guests on a warm weekday to several thousand on a pleasant Saturday. To support high beer demand, the team plans to install an on-site craft brewery that will produce beverages for the sibling company Second Rodeo.
The menu offers a modest selection of pizzas, wings, nachos, cheesesteaks, and a smashburger, along with cocktails on tap such as a hot honey margarita and Purple Drank.
