Parents planning to attend Friday’s Raising Capable Kids workshop in Richardson should check childcare availability before buying tickets: several age groups are already full.
The Heights Church is hosting authors and counselors Sissy Goff and David Thomas on Nov. 6, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Central Standard Time. The event takes place in the Worship Center at 201 W. Renner Road. Adult admission costs $10.
According to the church’s event announcement, the speakers will discuss ideas from their book, Capable, about helping children handle challenges and develop responsibility. The church welcomes parents who are not members as well as its congregation.
Childcare costs another $10 per child and must be reserved during registration. As of Monday, Nov. 2, the booking page showed several age groups sold out and a waitlist for ages 4 and 5. Availability can change, so families should check their child’s category rather than assume an adult ticket includes care.
