Joseph Luchenta, a former technology executive, has taken ownership of two VIO Med Spa locations in Richardson and McKinney. The acquisition gives him a foothold in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and aligns with the company’s goal to increase its presence in priority growth regions.

Luchenta assumed control of the Richardson and McKinney clinics during the second quarter of 2026. Rather than immediately opening new sites, he plans to spend the next 18 to 24 months focusing on operational improvements, employee investment, and customer experience enhancements at these existing locations. This approach is part of a buy-and-build strategy that combines acquiring operating locations with future development.

The expansion includes an agreement to open another VIO Med Spa in Prosper. Ryan Rao, chief development officer at VIO Med Spa, stated that the combination of established locations and future development provides the company with a foundation to increase its presence across North Texas. He described the agreement as representing the strategic growth the company is pursuing in priority markets like Dallas.

Luchenta brings an unconventional background to medical aesthetics. He spent nearly a decade in technology, including six years at Meta, and worked with early-stage companies after beginning his career in strategy consulting at McKinsey. He also holds an MBA from Harvard.

Luchenta said he was ready to move beyond building another technology company and invest in something more tangible, where strong teams and meaningful relationships directly shape the business.

VIO Med Spa offers physician-guided, non-invasive aesthetic and wellness treatments through standardized clinical protocols and medical oversight. Services include injectables, skin rejuvenation, laser treatments, advanced facials, wellness offerings, and medical-grade skincare. The company is headquartered in Nashville and was founded in 2017.

As of 2026, VIO has 65 locations across 20 states and more than 175 territories that were open, sold, or in development. Entrepreneur Magazine ranked VIO the No. 1 med spa franchise in its Franchise 500 for the third consecutive year in 2026. The company is targeting additional franchisees and multi-unit operators from sectors including hospitality, fitness, healthcare-adjacent businesses, quick-service restaurants, and other service-oriented industries.

The specific financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Details regarding the timeline for the Prosper location opening remain unclear.
