Richardson ISD Shares Parent Survey Results and Focus Areas

Richardson Independent School District has published the results of its 2025–26 End-of-Year Parent Survey, outlining feedback received from parents, guardians, and family members. The district states that this input guides its work toward a North Star Goal: ensuring every student, teacher, and leader meets or exceeds academic growth goals.

The survey responses indicated strong appreciation for educators. Families reported that teachers and campus staff make a significant difference in students' academic, social, and emotional development. Parents specifically recognized the dedication of classroom teachers, dyslexia therapists, bilingual educators, and special education teams. The district also noted that families celebrated opportunities for students to discover passions through fine arts, athletics, JROTC, student clubs, and extracurricular programs.

Based on the feedback, Richardson ISD identified four areas requiring focus:

1. Clearer, more consistent communication: The district will work toward consistent expectations for gradebook updates in Focus, Schoology communication, and campus calendars to ensure families have timely information.

2. Strong learning environments at every campus: Facility improvements and bond resource investments will continue with a focus on high-quality learning environments across all communities.

3. Technology with Purpose: Addressing concerns about screen time, the district aims to provide more hands-on experiences, writing, and reading opportunities that do not rely on devices. Technology will be used only when it enhances learning.

4. Stronger college and career guidance: High school counseling practices will be strengthened to provide students and families with more personalized guidance early in the high school experience.

The district emphasized that open and transparent communication remains a priority. It invites the community to continue sharing thoughts, questions, and concerns throughout the school year to help strengthen schools and support student growth.
