Richardson ISD Appoints Tucker Durham as Assistant Superintendent

Richardson ISD has appointed Tucker Durham as its new Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Support Services. The district stated it is pleased to welcome Mr. Durham, citing his extensive background in school district finance, operations, and regulatory compliance.

In this role, Mr. Durham will align financial strategies with the district’s educational goals. Before joining Richardson ISD, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Midland ISD, Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD, and Alpine ISD.

During his tenure at Midland ISD, Mr. Durham addressed a $42.5 million deficit resulting from the loss of state funding. He also strengthened financial processes, improved regulatory compliance, and oversaw a $1.4 billion bond program.

Mr. Durham began his education career at Alpine ISD, where he supported a successful bond program and worked to align financial strategies with educational priorities. At Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD, he played a key role in executing two bond programs and managing district financial operations. His work there helped the district achieve multiple finding-free audits, a milestone not reached in over a decade.

Mr. Durham holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in business administration from Angelo State University.

Richardson ISD expressed excitement about welcoming Mr. Durham to Team RISD and noted the experience and leadership he brings to the district.
