Richardson Independent School District has rescheduled several 9th grade, Junior Varsity, and Varsity football games originally planned for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Sept. 2-4. The district stated that the changes are due to forecasted heat this week, with the goal of prioritizing the safety of athletes, student performers, families, and fans.
The rescheduled games involve Berkner, Lake Highlands, Richardson, and JJ Pearce high schools. For Berkner High School, the 9th grade and JV games against Royce City are set for 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 3, while the Varsity game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.
Lake Highlands High School will host Wylie with 9th grade and JV games starting at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, and the Varsity game at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 4. Richardson High School’s games against Garland Naaman Forest are set for 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 2, with the Varsity game at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 3.
