San Antonio raced to a 39-20 lead after one quarter Thursday night, but the Atlanta Hawks outscored the Spurs 103-77 the rest of the way to win an NBA preseason game 123-116 at Frost Bank Center.

The Hawks scored 42 points in the second quarter and trimmed the deficit to 69-62 at halftime. Atlanta took the third quarter 31-26, leaving San Antonio ahead 95-93 with 12 minutes left, and closed the game on a 30-21 fourth quarter.
Leaders
Dylan Harper paced the Spurs with 16 points, four assists and 3-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. Stephon Castle and David Jones Garcia each scored 14, and Devin Vassell added 12. Keldon Johnson had seven rebounds, and Victor Wembanyama scored nine points with six rebounds in 17 minutes.
