Suns secure a four-point win

Luke Kennard scored 20 points, and the Phoenix Suns held off the San Antonio Spurs 102-98 on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026. Phoenix was the home team at Mortgage Matchup Center, where attendance was 17,071.

The Suns moved to 1-2 after building an early advantage and absorbing a late push from San Antonio. The Spurs fell to 0-2.

Phoenix builds its lead

Phoenix took control in the opening quarter, outscoring San Antonio 35-25. The Spurs answered in the second by winning the period 26-23, but the Suns still carried a 58-51 lead into halftime.

The Suns extended that margin in the third quarter. Phoenix added 27 points while San Antonio scored 22, leaving the home team ahead 85-73 with one quarter remaining.

Spurs make a fourth-quarter push

San Antonio reversed the quarter-by-quarter margin in the final period, scoring 25 points to Phoenix's 17. The Spurs closed the gap to four points, but the Suns finished with the 102-98 victory.

Phoenix's other listed leaders included Jalen Green, who had five assists, and Khaman Maluach, who collected 15 rebounds. For San Antonio, Dylan Harper scored 15 points, Victor Wembanyama had six assists and Luke Kornet grabbed 10 rebounds.

The result left the Suns at 1-2 and the Spurs at 0-2.
