Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently categorized as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as stated by head coach Dave Aranda. The team remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to compete in their upcoming game against Prairie View A&M.

Lagway sustained the injury during a close 17-16 loss to Auburn in the season opener. Despite the setback, he played throughout the game, leading the offense effectively, albeit with limited mobility. In his first game with Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes for a total of 333 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

He played a pivotal role in a late-game comeback, connecting with Gavin Freeman on a crucial fourth-and-10 pass and later throwing a touchdown pass to Freeman with just nine seconds left on the clock.

The team plans to provide further updates on Lagway's recovery following practices on Tuesday and Wednesday.
