The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Nico Collins when they meet the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Collins has been ruled out because of a hamstring problem after he did not practice during the week. The injury is a Grade 1 strain sustained in practice last week, and it also kept him out against Cincinnati. He will miss a second consecutive game.
Houston lost 20-6 to the Bengals and has scored six points in that defeat, leaving the Texans at 0-2. Indianapolis also is 0-2, with the teams set to play as each seeks its first victory. Dalton Schultz may have a larger role. Against Cincinnati, he caught 12 of 14 passes directed to him and gained 140 yards, including eight catches in the fourth quarter. Schultz has 16 receptions totaling 175 yards through two games, the most receiving production on Houston’s roster.
The Texans could involve more tight ends or emphasize the run, though David Montgomery and Woody Marks had limited success as Houston’s backs managed 1.5 yards per attempt against Cincinnati. Indianapolis has surrendered 354 rushing yards at 5.4 yards per carry. Houston’s other available receivers are Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel and Jared Wayne.
