The Dallas Cowboys have secured the services of tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford through the 2029 season. Agent Mike McCartney confirmed the three-year agreement on social media on Thursday. This deal ensures Spann-Ford remains with the team past his current status as a restricted free agent scheduled for 2027. Before this extension, his salary for the current campaign was set at $966,666.
Spann-Ford joined the league in 2024 after going undrafted out of Minnesota. He has since played in all 34 games for Dallas. His performance allowed him to assume the second tight end role, replacing Luke Schoonmaker, who was a second-round pick in 2023.
His receiving totals stand at 18 catches for 178 yards and one touchdown. However, his impact is often measured by his versatility on the field.
Over the last two seasons, he has been on the field for 25.5 percent of offensive snaps. Last year, he also recorded 357 special teams plays, becoming a vital part of that unit. The agent did not disclose the average annual value or the specific financial breakdown of the new contract. Richardson, Texas, is located 10 miles east of the Dallas Cowboys' home stadium.
