Green Bay has agreed to add guard Laken Tomlinson from Dallas' practice squad, NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. The transaction leaves the Cowboys with offensive linemen Marcellus Johnson and Wanya Morris on the practice squad.
Tomlinson, 34, signed with Dallas earlier this month when All-Pro guard Tyler Smith was placed on injured reserve after thumb surgery. He did not appear in the Cowboys' first two games. Smith can be eligible to return after Week 4, while details about Tomlinson's expected role in Green Bay were not provided.
The Detroit Lions chose Tomlinson in the first round of the 2015 draft. He has played in 173 games and started 162 across 11 NFL seasons, earning a Pro Bowl selection with the San Francisco 49ers in 2021. His other teams have included the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans, for whom he played 10 games in 2025.
Green Bay has faced offensive-line injuries, with Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele missing Week 3. Bako-Bewele will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn patellar tendon. Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been sacked eight times, and Pro Football Focus credits Green Bay with allowing 57 pressures through three games.
Tomlinson surrendered three sacks and 11 pressures for Houston last season. Dallas is set to play at Green Bay in Week 6.
