WACO, Texas — DJ Lagway, a quarterback who encountered significant difficulties at the University of Florida, is beginning anew at Baylor University. After a tough season highlighted by a poor performance against LSU, where he threw five interceptions, Lagway's mental well-being suffered, leading his mother, Nikita, to come to his aid.
Upon arriving, she discovered him in a state of emotional distress, sharing feelings of despair and abandonment. Nikita offered reassurance, reminding him that "God's got you," but Lagway expressed his sense of hopelessness, saying, "I think God forgot about me."
