The TCU Horned Frogs have confirmed a 2028 football game against the Northwestern State Demons. The contest is scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. Richardson, Texas, is located in the same metroplex as the host city, making the event a regional fixture for local sports fans.
A contract obtained via public records indicates TCU will pay a $600,000 guarantee to Northwestern State for the appearance.
This contest represents the second all-time meeting between the two programs. Their only prior encounter took place in 2001, resulting in a 27-24 overtime victory for the Demons. Northwestern State competes in the FCS Southland Conference and is currently led by head coach Blaine McCorkle. The team has begun its season with losses to Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech.
The addition of this game completes TCU's non-conference slate for the 2028 campaign. The Horned Frogs will open the season at home against Louisiana on August 26 and travel to Duke on September 9. The Big 12 Conference has not yet released specific conference opponents, though TCU is expected to play five home and four road games.
Northwestern State is also set to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
