North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks has switched his commitment from Stephen F. Austin and joined TCU's 2027 recruiting class, according to an announcement he made on social media Sept. 17.

Brooks said conversations with his family and personal prayer guided the decision. He also said staying near home was part of his choice. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman had mainly received offers from Football Championship Subdivision programs, including SFA and Southern University. TCU is his first offer from a Football Bowl Subdivision program, and Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.

North Crowley began the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo and Southlake Carroll, along with Summer Creek from the Houston area. The Panthers are set to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday.

Brooks is the 19th commitment in TCU's 2027 class. The group is ranked No. 54 nationally and No. 8 in the Big 12, according to a report by sports.yahoo.com.
