The Houston Texans entered their Indianapolis road game without a win and trailed the Colts 10-0 late in the first half. Middle linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair then left with a groin injury, leaving his availability for the rest of the game uncertain. ClutchPoints reported that no additional injury information was available.
Al-Shaair is a Pro Bowl defender. Houston began the season with defeats at home against the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Although many analysts had regarded the Texans’ defense as one of the NFL’s top units before the season, the group struggled in both losses, according to the report.
Houston had started slowly last season before making the playoffs. Following the Colts matchup, the Texans are scheduled to return home next week for a game against the Dallas Cowboys. That contest is set for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
