Nico Collins’ availability for Houston’s Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals remains unsettled after the Texans wide receiver missed Thursday and Friday’s practices. Collins injured his hamstring during Wednesday’s workout, and the team has not announced his official game status.
The 27-year-old began the season against Buffalo with 10 targets, converting them into seven catches, 75 yards and a touchdown. Houston lost that game to the Bills, 36-31. Collins has also surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons.
Adam Schefter reported that Houston’s doctors did not view the injury as serious, but Collins’ continued absence has raised questions about whether he will play. Ian Rapoport said Friday on *The Pat McAfee Show* that sitting out both practices reduced Collins’ likelihood of appearing, while also describing the hamstring issue as seemingly not serious. ClutchPoints.com reported that the situation had not been resolved.
If Collins is unavailable against Cincinnati, he may be able to return when Houston faces the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27 in Week 3.
