Nico Collins’ hamstring injury has left his status unresolved for Houston’s Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Collins was hurt while preparing for Week 2 and sat out the Texans’ 36-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Houston has one practice left before Sunday’s game, and no final decision had been announced.
The wide receiver opened the season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in a Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. If he cannot play at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more opportunities. Tight end Dalton Schultz has 175 receiving yards on 16 catches through two games, the team’s top downfield production.
A missed Week 3 game would move Collins’ next chance to Week 4, when Houston is scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. He has topped 1,000 receiving yards in each of the previous three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025, putting that run in jeopardy. The 27-year-old, who played for Michigan, also received a contract adjustment from Houston during the offseason.
