The Houston Texans have added wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley to their practice squad, following his exit from the Cincinnati Bengals, as reported by The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov on August 31. Tinsley, a 26-year-old who is 6 feet 1 inch tall, had eight receptions for 116 yards and two touchdowns last season with the Bengals.
His release came as Cincinnati has a strong lineup of wide receivers, leading to interest from various teams.
The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. commented on Tinsley’s signing, suggesting he may find better chances for playing time in Houston, where the Texans are looking to strengthen their wide receiver depth this month. Tinsley joins teammates Lewis Bond and Josh Kelly on the practice squad, according to Sleeper affiliate Jacob Barzilla.
He previously had a notable preseason in 2025, which helped him secure a spot on the Bengals' roster.
Tinsley, who went undrafted, has participated in 19 regular-season games, starting four. He is noted for his possession receiving skills and ability to make challenging catches, particularly in the middle of the field, though he may struggle with speed and quickness.
