Wednesday’s sensory morning adds to new all-fair accessibility options

The first sensory-friendly morning of the 2026 State Fair of Texas is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30, but two additions this year extend support beyond that limited window.
A sensory-friendly room at the Safe Kids Corral is available throughout the fair's 24 days. The fair has also joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, offering wearable accessories that can signal a person may need additional assistance. The fair's 2026 accessibility announcement

For a family planning a visit from Richardson, those changes create separate choices: attend a designated morning, use the room during another visit, or ask about a Sunflower accessory. None should be treated as a guarantee of a completely quiet environment.

The room is at the Midway Guest Relations complex, which also houses the Safe Kids Corral. Its availability across the full run matters for visitors whose work, school or travel schedules do not fit a Wednesday morning.
