Nimmo Drives in Key Runs
Harrison Nimmo’s two-run single in the sixth inning proved to be the decisive blow in a tightly contested matchup between the Texas Rangers and the Atlanta Braves. The Rangers secured a 7-6 victory on Saturday at Truist Park, improving their record to 50-48, while the Braves fell to 56-41.
Nimmo’s hit in the bottom of the sixth inning tied the game at 5-5 before he added two more runs on a subsequent play in the same inning. His performance included three total drives in, anchoring the Rangers' offensive surge after Atlanta had taken control earlier in the game.
Early Inning Action
The Rangers jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Pederson homered to right field, measuring 419 feet. The Braves responded swiftly in the second inning, taking a 4-1 advantage. White homered to left (406 feet) with Dubón scoring, followed by Baldwin’s single that brought Riley home, and Albies’ sacrifice fly that scored Jarvis.
Texas answered in the third inning. Langford singled to left, allowing Higashioka to score. Nimmo then singled to right, scoring Pederson and moving Langford to second. Harris II followed with a home run to right field (405 feet), giving Atlanta a 5-3 lead.
Sixth Inning Turns Game
The momentum shifted dramatically in the sixth inning. Carter homered to right (356 feet) with Duran scoring, tying the game at 5-5. Shortly after, Nimmo singled to center, scoring Langford and Pederson, putting Texas ahead 7-5.
