Jake Nimmo provided the decisive blow in the ninth inning, singling to center field to score Andrew Langford and lift the Texas Rangers to a 6-5 victory over the Houston Astros on Sunday. The walk-off hit secured the win at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, before a crowd of 33,804 fans.
Game Progression
The Astros struck first in the second inning. With the score tied, Evan Carter reached base and advanced to third. José Altuve’s groundout moved him to second, but it was the subsequent plays that shifted momentum.
After a single by Adolis García loaded the bases, Jake Burger’s groundout scored Carter. The Rangers responded immediately in the same inning. With the score at 1-1, Josh Jung singled to right, allowing Andrew Heaney to score from second.
The Rangers took a 2-1 lead when Marcus Semien doubled to left, scoring Jung. The Astros tied the game at 2-2 when Yordan Alvarez homered to left field.

The Astros tied it again in the seventh when Alvarez homered to right field, his second of the game, to make it 4-4.
The game remained tied until the eighth inning. The Rangers took a 5-4 lead when Seager homered to left field. The Astros tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth when Alvarez homered to left field for his third of the night.
