Nimmo Powers Rangers Past Marlins

Nimmo collected three hits, including a pivotal two-run home run in the fourth inning, to help the Texas Rangers defeat the Miami Marlins 4-3 on Monday. The victory improved the Rangers' record to 38-40, while the Marlins fell to 40-39. The game was played at loanDepot Park in front of 20,008 spectators.

Early Lead and Tied Game

Texas took control early when Duran launched a 407-foot home run to center field in the fourth inning. Nimmo scored on the play, giving the Rangers a 2-0 advantage. Miami responded in the fifth inning when Caissie scored on a sacrifice fly by Sanoja, narrowing the deficit to 2-1.

The Marlins tied the game in the sixth inning. Edwards tripled to left field, and Lopez scored to make it 2-2. Edwards was thrown out attempting to stretch the triple at home plate, but the run counted. The score remained deadlocked until the eighth inning, when the Rangers' offense broke through.

Eighth-Inning Rally

Osuna led off the eighth with a double to right field, and Nimmo scored to put Texas ahead 3-2. Burger advanced to third base on the play. In the same inning, Díaz hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Burger to extend the lead to 4-2.

Miami attempted a comeback in the bottom of the eighth. Stowers doubled to right field, and Mack scored to make it 4-3. Lopez advanced to third, but the Marlins could not tie the game. The Rangers held on for the win.

Pitching Performances

Tyler Alexander pitched 1.0 inning for Texas, allowing no hits or runs with one strikeout. Kumar Rocker started for the Rangers, pitching 5.0 innings and striking out nine batters while allowing two earned runs. Robby Ahlstrom earned the win with 1.0 scoreless inning and one strikeout.

Jakob Junis recorded his ninth save with 0.2 innings of work, allowing one hit and one earned run. Jacob Latz secured the save with 1.1 innings, striking out two batters.

For Miami, Tyler Phillips pitched 6.0 innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts. Michael Petersen and Anthony Bender combined for 1.0 inning, with Bender striking out one. Calvin Faucher took the loss after pitching 1.0 inning and allowing two earned runs. Dax Fulton pitched 1.0 scoreless inning for the Marlins with one strikeout.
