Late Inning Surge Secures Victory

The Chicago White Sox completed a decisive rally in the final frame to defeat the Texas Rangers, 10-3, at Globe Life Field on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The victory improved the White Sox record to 53-46, while the Rangers fell to .500 at 50-50.

Chicago established an early lead, taking a 2-0 advantage into the second inning. Pederson opened the scoring with a home run to right center in the first, followed by a run scored on Carter’s single in the second. The Rangers responded in the third when Vargas doubled and Antonacci scored, making it 2-1.

The White Sox tied the game in the fifth inning when Antonacci singled and Peters scored.

Benintendi’s Double Turns Tide

The momentum shifted dramatically in the fifth inning. Benintendi doubled to right field, driving in Antonacci, Vargas, and Murakami to give Chicago a 5-2 lead. This three-run play proved to be the turning point of the contest.

The Rangers managed to cut the deficit in the seventh when Burger homered to left center, making the score 5-3. However, the White Sox offense exploded in the ninth inning to seal the game.

Ninth Inning Explosion

Chicago added a run in the bottom of the ninth when Vargas doubled and Meidroth scored. The inning continued with Acuña singling to right, bringing home Murakami and Vargas to extend the lead to 8-3. Grichuk then tripled to left, scoring Acuña for a 9-3 advantage. B. Montgomery doubled to left, completing the five-run rally with a 10-3 final score.

Erick Fedde started for Chicago, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits with 6 strikeouts. He received support from the bullpen. Chris Murphy earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings. Jordan Hicks, Seranthony Dominguez, Sean Newcomb, and Trevor Richards combined for 2.2 scoreless innings to close out the game.

For the Rangers, Jacob deGrom took the loss after pitching 4.2 innings with 5 earned runs allowed. Peyton Gray, Ben Peoples, Robby Ahlstrom, and Jose Corniell relieved him. Corniell allowed 5 earned runs in 1.0 inning of work.
