Canzone's Offensive Surge

Dominic Canzone delivered the decisive blow in the seventh inning, launching a three-run home run that shifted the momentum in Seattle’s favor. The right-handed blast traveled 400 feet to the right-field stands, providing the run that ultimately secured the 6-4 win for the visiting Mariners over the Texas Rangers on Sunday.

Canzone added another hit later in the game, doubling to right field in the ninth inning to drive in one more run. The Mariners also received significant power from Cal Raleigh Arozarena, who homered to right center in the same seventh-inning frame.

Texas answered with a solo home run by Adolis Duran in the eighth inning, but it was not enough to overcome Seattle's late offensive explosion.

Game Progression

The Rangers took an early lead in the first inning when Leody Taverda hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Evan Carter to score. The Mariners tied the game in the third inning when Adolis Duran singled to left field, scoring Marcus Semien.

Seattle broke the tie in the fourth inning. Josh Naylor singled to right, scoring Corey Seager, and later in the inning, Nathaniel Lowe reached on an infield single to second, scoring Naylor. The Mariners extended their lead in the seventh. After Canzone’s three-run homer, Arozarena followed with his own home run, pushing the score to 5-3.

Texas mounted a late rally. Duran’s eighth-inning homer cut the deficit to 5-4. However, the Rangers could not complete the comeback. Canzone’s ninth-inning double sealed the victory, making it 6-4.

Pitching Performances

Logan Gilbert started for Seattle, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing five hits and three earned runs while striking out four. Gabe Speier earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings and three strikeouts. Jacob deGrom started for Texas, throwing five innings with seven hits and one earned run allowed. He was joined in the bullpen by Robby Ahlstrom, who pitched one scoreless inning. Tyler Alexander and Cole Winn struggled, combining for four hits and four earned runs in less than one inning of work.

Ben Peoples and Peyton Gray each pitched one inning, with Gray allowing one earned run.
