AUSTIN, Texas — Attorney General Ken Paxton has secured a temporary injunction against a wind-turbine recycling company accused of turning two West Texas sites into illegal dump yards.

The order bars Global Fiberglass Solutions and affiliated entities from accepting any more shipments of discarded wind turbine blades and requires them to begin cleaning up two facilities in Sweetwater, where more than 3,000 blades and parts have been stockpiled. The attorney general's office says the stockpiles sit on unpermitted sites that violate the state's solid waste disposal laws.

Paxton first sued the company in February 2026, seeking civil penalties and an order forcing the complete removal and lawful disposal of the waste. State lawyers describe the injunction as a first step toward that goal.

"This is a victory for protecting the land, health, and safety of the people of Texas," said Attorney General Paxton. "We will not allow Texas land to be used as an illegal dumping ground."

The order also requires the defendants to break down the blades already on site and dispose of them at an authorized facility. The attorney general's office says it will keep pressing for penalties against the company for what it calls blatant violations of state environmental laws.

Richardson is about 300 miles from Sweetwater, and the ruling is part of broader state enforcement on the back end of the clean-energy buildout.
