Tesla has signed a lease for 36,937 square feet of office space at Collins Center, 1225 Alma Road in Richardson, the commercial real estate data firm CoStar reported Monday.
CoStar described the deal as a new lease for the Austin-based electric vehicle and clean energy company. The rest of the report is behind CoStar's subscriber paywall, and neither the length of the lease, the rent nor the Tesla operation that will use the space was available. Fobare Commercial handles leasing for the building, according to CoStar's listing of contacts on the deal.
The building
Collins Center is an existing Class A office building with about 153,000 square feet in total, according to a marketing listing for the property on Showcase, which advertises space for lease on a triple-net basis.
The listing highlights the building's power and data setup: 1,200 amps of dedicated power in several suites, a pad site for a generator, and one suite with 2,000 amps, a 450-kilowatt Cummins generator and a data hall with 180 tons of cooling already in place. It says the building draws power from multiple substations and has more than nine fiber providers.
The listing also notes a DART bus stop on the property and says the DART Arapaho Center Station is about a five-minute walk away.
