Three intersections in Richardson are slated to get new traffic signals next year, according to a project the city registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Sunday, Oct. 25.
The filing lists the locations as Coit Road at Dumont, Spring Valley Road at St. Johns and Spring Valley Road at Jupiter. The scope of work is a single line: installation of three traffic signals.
Cost and schedule
The city puts the estimated cost at $1,014,000. Work is scheduled to begin Jan. 1, 2027, and wrap up by July 30, 2027, the registration shows. The project is classified as new construction involving public funds or public land, with the City of Richardson as owner and Lee Engineering of Dallas as the design firm.
The registration does not say which city fund will pay for the signals, whether a construction contract has been awarded, or how lanes would be managed while crews work.
Why it was filed
The listing sits in the state's Texas Architectural Barriers system, which tracks construction projects for accessibility review. The record names a registered accessibility specialist for the project, and the page notes that an owner must request an inspection from such a specialist within the year after construction is finished.
Spring Valley Road has drawn the city's attention before. A draft of the Safer Streets Richardson traffic safety plan, which was on the council's Oct. 12 work session agenda, put a stretch of West Spring Valley Road at the top of its list of high-injury corridors. The filing does not connect the new signals to that plan.
The registration is project TABS2027004372 on the state's website.
