UT Dallas could not turn another home date into another sweep Tuesday, Oct. 20. St. Edward’s beat the Comets in three sets in Richardson, 25–15, 25–20, 25–23.
The loss followed a successful home weekend: UTD swept Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 16 and West Texas A&M on Oct. 17. This time, the Comets narrowed the margin in each set but never took one from the Hilltoppers.
The Comets now leave Richardson for two road matches. They are scheduled to play Western New Mexico in Silver City on Thursday, Oct. 22, followed by Sul Ross State in Alpine on Saturday, Oct. 24.
