RICHARDSON, Texas — Two major events are unfolding in Richardson this week: the Miss Texas and Miss Texas' Teen state competitions at the Eisemann Center, and the recognition of Richardson ISD as a Texas Way District of Distinction.

The Miss Texas pageant, running June 23 through 27 at the Eisemann Center and adjacent Renaissance Hotel, marks the 13th consecutive year Richardson has hosted the competition. Preliminary rounds are underway, with final competitions scheduled for later this week. Winners will advance to represent Texas at the national level.

Richardson ISD announced it has been named a Texas Way District of Distinction for the 2025-2026 school year. The designation, presented by the Texas Way organization, recognizes school districts that demonstrate excellence in character development and athletics programs. "We are proud to announce that RISD Athletics has been honored as a District of Distinction by the Texas Way," the district posted on social media.

The Eisemann Center is located at 2351 Performance Drive. Tickets for Miss Texas events are available through the Eisemann Center box office.
