RTX Corporation’s Raytheon unit secured a defense contract with the U.S. Air Force that carries a maximum value of $603 million. The agreement was announced Tuesday by the Department of Defense.
The arrangement is structured as an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. Under its terms, Raytheon will manufacture and provide ongoing support for new radar systems designed for the Air Force’s B-52 aircraft fleet.
Contract work will be distributed across four locations: Forrest, Mississippi; El Segundo, California; McKinney, Texas; and Warner Robins, Georgia. The project is scheduled to conclude on August 20, 2031.
Raytheon operates as a division within RTX, which describes itself as a major global aeronautics and defense organization. The company’s revenue streams are divided among several sectors, including missile systems and integrated air defense, where Raytheon handles weapons, munitions, and detection equipment. Other segments include Pratt & Whitney for aircraft engines and Collins Aerospace for navigation and control systems.
RTX reports that the majority of its net sales originate from product sales rather than services. Geographically, most revenue comes from the United States, with smaller portions generated in Europe, Asia/Pacific, and other regions. The corporation employs approximately 180,000 people worldwide.
