Kirk homer helps Blue Jays hold off Astros, 3-1, at Daikin Park

Kirk hit the game’s only home run, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Houston Astros 3-1 on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Daikin Park in Houston.

Toronto, the away team, went ahead in the top of the second inning when Kirk homered to left center at 373 feet. The swing gave the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead and accounted for the only home run listed in the game.

Shane Bieber earned the win for Toronto, moving to 3-2. He pitched 5.2 innings and allowed nine hits, one earned run and two walks while striking out six.

Braydon Fisher recorded his 10th hold with 1.0 inning, allowing one hit, no earned runs and two walks with no strikeouts. Brendon Little earned his first hold after 1.1 innings with no hits allowed, no earned runs, one walk and four strikeouts. Tyler Rogers recorded his third save with 1.0 inning, allowing no hits, no earned runs and no walks with no strikeouts.
