Richardson ISD earned a B in the Texas Education Agency's 2026 accountability ratings with an overall score of 83, a grade that covers an unusually wide range of campus results.

Of 49 rated campuses, 13 earned an A, 19 a B, seven a C, eight a D and two an F.

Both ends

Prairie Creek Elementary led the district at 95, with Canyon Creek Elementary and White Rock Elementary each at 93. All three are A ratings.

Skyview Elementary scored 53 and RISD Academy 59, both F ratings. Northrich Elementary scored 61, a D.

The 42-point distance between the district's highest and lowest campus is among the largest in the area, and unlike several neighboring districts it does not fall along grade level. Richardson's strongest and weakest campuses are both elementary schools.

The domains

The district scored 84 in school progress and 82 in student achievement, both B ratings.

Closing the gaps came in at 79 and academic growth at 76, both C ratings. Closing the gaps measures performance across student groups, and a C there in a district with this much campus-level variation is consistent with the rest of the report.

What the spread reflects

Richardson ISD enrolls 36,142 students across 51 schools, spanning neighborhoods that differ substantially in income and demographics, from parts of north Dallas through Richardson proper.

A district-wide B built from 13 A campuses and two F campuses describes a system where a family's experience depends heavily on which building their child attends. Campus reports for every school are published at TXSchools.gov.
