Richardson officials have released updated service schedules for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday. Solid waste, recycling, and Brush and Bulky Item Collection services will not operate on Friday, July 3. Trash collection will not have a makeup day, but recycling pickups originally scheduled for Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3, will shift to Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2, respectively.
Several municipal facilities will close for the holiday. City Hall, the Municipal Court, the Service Center, the Eisemann Center, the Gymnastics Center, the Library, the Senior Center, and the Animal Shelter will all be shut down on July 4. City Hall and related administrative buildings will also close on July 3.
The Heights Family Aquatic Center, Neighborhood Pools, Sherrill Park Golf Course, and the Tennis Center will remain open with limited hours on July 4.
The Richardson Fire Department is celebrating its centennial on Saturday, June 27, at Fire Headquarters and Station 1. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will feature historic artifacts, station tours, and remarks honoring the department's founding in 1926. Additionally, the City Council has approved changes to the 2027 Wildflower!
