Jordan’s national soccer team has departed the 2026 FIFA World Cup after failing to advance past the group stage. The team suffered a 3-1 defeat against Argentina on Saturday night, marking their third consecutive loss in the tournament. Despite the losses, Jordan managed to score a goal in each of their matches.

During the Argentina match, Lionel Messi scored in the 80th minute via a free kick. This goal marked his 72nd career free kick and 12th for his national team, extending his record as the first player to score in seven straight World Cup games. The victory propelled Argentina fans to gather at Klyde Warren Park and Dallas Stadium.

Following the tournament, the King of Jordan visited Khashoka, a restaurant in Richardson. Muhammad Albakri, the owner, noted that many Jordanians traveled to Dallas to watch the match. He described the dining experience for the King as consistent with what other guests receive. Fans emphasized that the tournament helped raise the profile of Jordan, a nation with approximately 11.5 million residents.
