The Dutch Orange Bus arrived in Richardson on Monday, drawing a crowd of over 1,500 supporters to Hat Creek Burger Company. Attendees enjoyed free burgers and drinks while listening to music played through speakers mounted on the vehicle. The restaurant provided approximately 2,500 burgers and samples of a new orange-flavored soda to the guests.
Drew Gressett, the founder of Hat Creek Burger Company, stated that the establishment wanted to participate in the bus's journey to America. Visitors, including a couple married for two decades, expressed enthusiasm for the cultural exchange and the festive atmosphere. A member of the bus group noted that families and children were particularly engaged during the event.
This mobile celebration has accompanied Dutch soccer fans to international tournaments since 2004. The bus is scheduled to travel to Houston next, where supporters will gather at Rice University before marching to NRG Stadium for the Netherlands match against Sweden on Saturday, June 20.
