Plano has confirmed that the Miyako Hybrid Hotel will open its doors in late 2027. The development, which is located in a city approximately 5 miles north of Richardson, represents a significant addition to the local hospitality sector by combining Japanese architectural traditions with regional service standards.
The property will contain 217 guest rooms, including 11 suites. Among these accommodations is the Imperial Suite, which serves as the hotel's signature offering. The design philosophy aims to merge refined Japanese aesthetics with contemporary Texas comfort across both private rooms and shared areas.
Amenities planned for the site include a traditional Japanese restaurant and a bakery specializing in Japanese pastries. Guests will also have access to a rooftop bar and dining area offering panoramic views, as well as an upscale lobby lounge and bar. The hotel includes more than 5,000 square feet of space designated for meetings and events, targeting both leisure travelers and business visitors.
The project has undergone a lengthy development process. Initial plans for Texas' first Miyako Hybrid Hotel were introduced in 2024. The city of Plano subsequently approved economic incentives to support the arrival of the brand, citing the project's cultural importance and anticipated long-term economic benefits. Construction commenced after developers broke ground on the site.
The hotel is situated in the Legacy area, a district known for hosting numerous Japanese companies and serving as a hub for international commerce. Developers describe the property as a natural fit for the area's existing business landscape. The project is intended to complement Plano's current inventory of upscale lodging while reinforcing the city's attractiveness to international investors and corporate travelers.
