Feliciana Cansino, a bartender at Good Vibes Bar and Grill in Richardson, continues to recover from a violent stabbing incident that occurred in May. She sustained seven stab wounds during the attack, which also injured three other patrons. All four victims were transported to hospitals following the event.
The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Stephen Kwembe, had previously been removed from the establishment in February 2026. Cansino recalled that Kwembe threw money at her during that earlier encounter, prompting her to ask him to leave. She stated that he returned on May 8 and asked if she remembered him. When she indicated she would not serve him again, the attack began.
Prior to the stabbing, Richardson Police reported that Kwembe attempted to retrieve a firearm that had been confiscated during a drug paraphernalia arrest. He was unsuccessful in recovering the weapon. Later that day, he contacted the Garland Police Department via a non-emergency line and stated his intention to kill someone at the bar.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Kwembe standing outside the entrance holding a knife. He refused to drop the weapon and moved toward the officers, leading two of them to shoot and kill him. Cansino credited bystanders with intervening to stop the suspect, noting that their actions saved her life.
