Plano is about 5 miles north of Richardson. Residents and visitors in the region have several extended-run events to attend, ranging from sports festivals to art exhibitions.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is taking place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington from June 14 through July 14. The venue will host nine matches, drawing international fans to the area. To support the tournament, FC Dallas is organizing a fan festival at Simpson Plaza in Frisco.

Running from June 11 to July 19, the event features live match screenings, music, food, and family activities. Entry requires free tickets.

A similar celebration, Dallas Fan Fest, is held at Fair Park in Dallas during the same June 11 to July 19 window. This gathering offers match screenings and cultural experiences for soccer enthusiasts.

For those interested in art and history, several exhibitions are open across the metroplex. The Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas is hosting Soccer: More Than a Game from March 7 to September 7. This 10,000-square-foot interactive display examines the physics and strategy behind soccer through STEM-focused exhibits.

In Frisco, the Frisco Heritage Museum presents Legends of Soccer from June 15 to December 1. The free exhibit covers World Cup history, featuring tributes to players like Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, and Pelé, as well as moments from the 1950, 1966, and 2010 tournaments.

In McKinney, the America 250: Texas Trailblazing Wonder Women Exhibition runs from June 15 to August 30 at Millhouse. The juried show displays 25 large-scale works by Texas artists honoring influential women in history.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is featuring Hunt Slonem: Bunnies, Birds & Butterflies from April 20 to September 30. The outdoor exhibition includes large-scale sculptures and colorful installations inspired by nature.

In The Colony, Cosm Dallas offers an immersive Harry Potter experience through July 2. Using 12K LED dome technology, the screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone blends cinema with themed environments. The event runs from May 7 to July 2.
