Richardson ISD moves to B rating in 2025-2026 TEA accountability results

The 2025-2026 Texas Education Agency accountability results released today show Richardson ISD has moved to a B district rating. The district improved from a C rating with a score of 79 in 2025 to a B rating with an overall score of 83 in 2026.

Superintendent Tabitha Branum stated that the progress reflects the collective commitment of teachers, leaders, staff, students, and families to keeping student growth at the center of their work. She added that the district is making meaningful progress and ensuring more students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The results indicate continued progress across multiple grade levels and subject areas. Thirty-one RISD campuses earned an A or B rating, and 100% of high schools achieved an A or B rating. All Learning Communities averaged a B rating, and significant performance gains were recorded across all Junior High Mathematics programs.

Students performed at or above the state at the Meets Grade Level standard in 14 of 20 tested areas and exceeded the state at the Masters Grade Level standard in 18 of 20 tested areas.

RISD schools earned 113 TEA distinction designations, which is 12 more than in 2025. The number of campuses earning distinctions increased from 30 in 2025 to 34 in 2026. The district attributes these results to its North Star Goal, which states that every student, teacher, and leader will meet or exceed their academic growth goals.

Parents can access their child’s STAAR results through the RISD Focus Parent Portal. To view scores, parents should log in, click My Child, then Child Info, and select Assessment Rpt Cards. They should scroll to the Texas Test Scores section and select the link to the Texas Student Portal, which is available in English or Spanish.

Parents without portal access can visit the district website for directions to create an account. Campus principals will share accountability ratings with families on Friday, Aug. 14, along with information about what the results mean and the steps being taken to support continued student success.
