Angela Stanford has returned to TCU as an assistant coach for the women’s golf team, bringing the program’s only four-time All-American back to the university. Stanford is from Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
Stanford played for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000. She earned All-American honors four times and still holds TCU’s career record with 10 victories. Her hiring follows her recent work as captain of the U.S. team at the Solheim Cup.
TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said the program was extremely pleased to have Stanford back at TCU and identified her as the team’s third coach. Ravaioli-Larkin also pointed to Stanford’s experience as a major champion and her role leading the U.S. Solheim Cup team. TCU did not provide additional information about Stanford’s responsibilities.
