Baylor and Louisiana Tech will have new quarterbacks taking the opening assignment Saturday. Baylor's DJ Lagway is out with an ankle injury, while Louisiana Tech starter Blake Baker is unavailable because of a hand injury.
Nate Bennett will start his second straight game for the Bears. Bennett threw for 314 yards and helped produce four touchdowns in Baylor's game against Prairie View A&M, though he also had two interceptions. Lagway, who transferred to Baylor from Florida, was hurt in the team's season-opening defeat against Auburn.
He then missed the Prairie View A&M game after being listed as doubtful for the Louisiana Tech matchup.
Trey Kukuk is set to start for Louisiana Tech in place of Baker. ESPN.com reported the quarterback updates.
